Seeking Economic Development Director

The Development Authority of Crawford County is seeking an individual to fill the role of Economic Development Director.

The Director is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, monitoring, and assessment of all industrial/economic development activities within Crawford County. Primary focus is on traditional economic development activities (e.g. recruitment, retention, expansion, etc. of existing businesses located within our Industrial Park) with significant concentrations on rural business development, redevelopment, industrial development and community engagement.

Interested applicants should have 3 or more years experience in either economic development (emphasis on industrial development) local and regional planning, or rural development. Knowledge and understanding of local government, Sunshine laws, and ability to work with a Board is a must.

Demonstrated experience in Industrial Development as well as the knowledge and experience required to develop and implement new projects within budget guidelines.Must have the ability to work on and complete projects with minimal support.

Knowledge and understanding of the various resources available from the State of Georgia, federal grant programs, foundations, partnerships, associations, or private sectors that support economic development.

Ability to coordinate and support collaborative projects involving a number of separate entities while communicating effectively with the community.Additionally the Director will perform all the secretarial & office manager duties for the authority.

Working hours are: Monday- Friday, 8 a.m-1:00 p.m.and you would follow the county schedule for Holidays. Some evening meetings are required.
